Well, as I predicted, the dumb asses of Hillsborough county (aka the teabaggers) voted down the ballot referendum to fund light rail. And the margin wasn’t even close. The ballot measure was defeated by over 15%.
To the the 100,000+ people who voted for county wide transportation, my advice to you is to punish this shit hole county and state by taking your talents and skills else where. You’re too good for this place.
I love how these teabag a-holes think that by maintaining the unsustainable status quo it will somehow make Tampa a better place to live, create more jobs, and attract or retain more educated workers. These teabagger shitheads in Tampa need to learn the hard way. This city/county/state is going no where. I can’t wait to leave. I’ve only got three semesters left. I will use this anger as motivation. Fuck this place.
I was very disappointed that the transit measure was rejected. I haven’t seen the demographics, but since it was a county-wide referendum I’m guessing a lot of the nay-sayers were non-Tampa residents of Hillsborough County. Supporting transit would require people to admit it was a mistake to move to remote suburbs in the first place.
